A Journey from the Shop Floor
From the shop floor to Factory Operations Manager, meet Marcus Bienek!
Marcus first joined the team at Sydenhams Timber Engineering back in 2010 as a 17-year-old yard hand. Over the years, his dedication and willingness to learn have seen him grow alongside the business, building an impressive career within the timber engineering industry.

Gaining Hands-On Experience
Since those early days in the yard, Marcus has worked across almost every single part of the manufacturing factory.
He has gained invaluable hands-on experience making joists, trusses and precision timber panels. He has also taken on vital logistical responsibilities, from safely loading deliveries to directly supervising the wider production lines. This comprehensive understanding of the entire manufacturing process makes him perfectly suited for his current leadership position.

Leading the Factory Operations
Today, Marcus successfully leads the truss department and oversees the day-to-day running of the entire factory operation.
His journey is a fantastic example of how we strive to support internal progression and develop rewarding, long-term careers across the business. By investing in our team members, we ensure that our leadership is built on a foundation of genuine, practical experience.
In His Own Words
Reflecting on his time with the company and his current responsibilities, Marcus shared:
“I enjoy the varied aspects of my role. Every day brings something different, and I really value working as part of a team and liaising with customers to help get projects delivered.”
Thank you, Marcus, for your continued hard work and dedication over the last 16 years!
